Bohemian Highway Travel Co.

Say goodbye to the traditional wine tour. Bohemian Highway Travel Co. was founded by two self-described locavores with a passion for Sonoma and its wine-country culture—the makers, artisans and farmers that make this region a sought-after destination. With tailored itineraries like a private tasting in the caves of an upscale winery or climbing aboard an ATV to sip wines atop a mountain, these unconventional guides make wine tasting an off-the-beaten-path adventure.

The Overlook Trail

Just a few blocks from Sonoma Plaza and El Dorado Hotel, this 3-mile hike takes you through meadows and grasslands overlooking the expansive Sonoma Valley. The trailhead starts at the base of the Mountain Cemetery, adjacent to the Montini Open Space Preserve, and offers dozens of other great trails through scenic rock outcroppings and oak woods. Note that the Sonoma Overlook Trail is undergoing rehabilitation, so be sure to check the latest updates for any partial closures.

Sonoma Raceway

The need for speed is just a (scenic) 15-minute drive away. A 1600-acre facility with a 2.52-mile road course, the world-renowned Sonoma Raceway is home to IndyCar Series and NASCAR. You can also get behind the wheel yourself: Take a shifter kart lesson, learn from pro-drivers in a KTM X-bow, or rent a million-dollar Mclaren for the ultimate driving experience.
