Buena Vista Winery

The oldest commercial winery in California, Buena Vista is one of the most interesting tasting experiences in Sonoma. Hear the legends of the winery’s eccentric founder the “Count of Buena Vista” in a 20-minute sound-and-visual show, tour the barrel-room “caves,” or try a private tasting in the new bubble lounge. The recently renovated grounds are also inviting, with a large open patio where you can bring your own picnic. And don’t forget to check out the Instagram-favorite “wall of frames” near the entrance.

Historical Sonoma Plaza

Sonoma Plaza is a historic landmark and home to great shops and more, including El Dorado Hotel and the Mission de San Francisco Solano. Take a tour of the Mission’s army barracks and original adobe homes, or learn about the Bear Flag Revolt of 1846 that helped shape Sonoma. Post-touring, grab wine and cheese from Sonoma Cheese Factory for your own picnic in the plaza’s park.
